Kelly's Road To Wrestlemania Pt.12

Wrestlemania 28  4/1/12

Miami Gardens, Florida

The promo for the next year’s Wrestlemania in MetLife Stadium fades to black, as Wrestlemania 28 continues. Cameras zoom out on the face of Divas Champion Kelly Gervais, looking very serious in the face, ready to go into a war of some sorts, showing off a new attire of White, Metallic Black, and Silver. The silver glitter on her eyelids contribute to making her look like a million bucks, as well as the stick that colors her lips in blood. Matt Striker is standing to Kelly’s right with a mic in hand.

Matt Striker: “Please welcome my guest at this time, who in a few moments from now will defend her Divas Title in a ladder match, Kelly Gervais.”

Kelly slightly turns her head towards Matt and looks at him, still not in her usual state of mind, looking at things positively with the mindset of “What Could Possibly Go Wrong”. All those feelings have been replaced with pure hatred towards her opponent, Lacey Laree Leeland.

Matt Striker: “Kelly, what you are about to go through tonight could be one of the toughest matches you will ever have in your young career here in WWE. You are about to enter the first ever Divas ladder match in the history of the WWE. What are the kind of feelings you are feeling tonight as you enter into what will be your second ever defense of your Divas Championship?”

Kelly Gervais snatches the mic from Matt Striker, who slightly backs away from the Divas Champ. Kelly Gervais stands directly in front of the camera, while Matt looks on.

Kelly Gervais: “Lacey Laree Leeland... I hear what you say about me. Tonight is going to be my night, for it will be MY Wrestlemania moment to successfully defend my title on the grandest stage of them all... yet you say “The end of me is where you begin”.When you said that, your objective became completely clear to me... you purposely done what you did not only to try to get under my skin, but to break me, and later use it as your key to the title. Well hun... there’s gonna be a lot of many things you will learn.  You remember when you and Mason Ryan attacked my love... Santino?

You remember when YOU put my bestie Alicia through a flaming ladder?

Well remember this... you f*** with my friends, and in the end you will be the one who gets f***ed....

You tried to take everything from my well being, but tonight, you will see... hell hath no fury...”

Kelly drops the mic in front of the camera and leaves the interview area as the camera zooms to show Matt Striker while the camera feed transitions to the stadium. Justin Roberts in the center, surrounded by an audience of 70,000+.

Justin Roberts: “The Following is a LADDER Match.. for the DIVAS CHAMPIONSHIP!!!”

The many fans that filled up Sun Life Stadium send a pop through the entire stadium after the announcement. The same applause continues when they hear “Party In My Head” by September, and most lights in the stadium go out. The lights go back on, and Kelly Gervais appears with her arms up, fingers focused toward the sky. The Divas Title belt, the very one that she created at the beginning of her title reign, is not visible on her body, as the title is suspended in air as it is a ladder match, hence the ladders scattered around the ring. during Kelly’s entrance, a video package is shown, highlighting the build-up of the feud between Kelly Gervais and Lacey Laree Leeland all the way starting with their first encounter at the Royal Rumble, where Kelly had won the divas title from Beth Phoenix. The song featured in the package was “War Of Change” by Thousand Foot Krutch. Now Kelly can be seen inside the ring looking like a pure diamond with the attire she is currently wearing, but someone who one person would not like to bother as she has her mind set on tearing apart the girl who for a month had tried to do everything to hurt her.

Then the fans heard the familiar sound (to some) of the intro of “Pomp & Circumstance” which was the theme of Macho Man Randy Savage during most of his time in WWE (Then WWF). Then all of a sudden, blue pyro outside the arena blasted into the air as the music stopped. This was followed by the lights inside Sun Life Stadium turning off section by section. Then a video appeared on the jumbotrons inside the stadium. The video shows Lacey walking down a dark corridor into light, along with her saying, “One unfortunate soul, taken too soon, one ends.... and so It is another, who must possess that of the fallen, and claim their spirit before going into battle. And that is when this individual will begin their path... to glory”. A huge thud is heard when the video comes to an end, followed by “Eon” by Celldweller, which brings about a quarter of the audience to booing, knowing of who is about to arrive. A light blue beacon of light could be seen from the stage within the darkened stadium. Then pyro goes off within the stadium, and the lights go back on... there she was... the challenger for the Divas Title, Lacey Laree Leeland, with a Macho Man-esque jacket, illuminated by LEDs within, as if the jacket came right out of the movie “TRON: Legacy”. The top was the same, except it was only two colors, White and Blue, the same colors of the jacket she wore. Something different that was noticeable was that she was wearing long tights instead of the trunks that she had been sporting as ring attire ever since she turned heel at Survivor Series. The tights were similar to those she wore before she turned heel, white with blue stripes on the sides, only that these had holes on the sides. Underneath she wore fishnets, further enhancing the look that made her look like a serious contender. Barely down the ramp and she does her pose, leading to a huge pyro show, ending in sparks emitting from the stage, and here is where all the boos get louder. Lacey takes her time getting to the ring, even pointing at a YES! sign that a fan had put up, smiling at it before retaining that serious look. The slow walk, a beacon of hatred sent back and forth, giving a sense of anticipation of the upcoming match, which could redefine the Divas division altogether. Kelly stretches to loosen up before the match begins as Lacey finally enters the ring via sliding. Lacey climbs the nearest corner to do her pose, arms flexed outwards in the same way that Randy Orton used to do during his Legend Killer days. After posing, she looks back at Kelly, still stretching, and then jumps right off in a tornado. Kelly, now in a full standing position, watching Lacey take off  and throw away the jacket, walking ever closer to her as the music in the stadium stops. Lacey Laree Leeland putting her 5’4” figure up against the 5’5” of Kelly Gervais, creating the right amount of electricity needed to start the match off on a good note.

Referee Charles Robinson separates the two, and later requesting to start the match.... the bell rings, and fans send applause through Sun Life Stadium. It’s not surprising to see that it was gonna be a brawl from the start. Kelly Gervais tackling her opponent right upon the ring of the bell and landing shots on the skull like there is no turning back. There is nothing that Charles Robinson can do about such other than watch, as obviously the match is NO-DQ by default. Kelly sending screams through the stadium as she beats down Lacey Laree Leeland, a very strong show of emotion within the Divas Champion. Lacey just manages to make it to the ropes, in hopes of finding separation from the unleashed hellcat that is the Divas Champion Kelly Gervais. Kelly makes an attempt to grab Lacey within the ropes, but receives a shoulder to the stomach instead. Lacey goes over the ropes, and rolls up Kelly, and then rolls back out, back on her own two feet, which enables her to send a kick straight to the jaw of the champ. Lacey takes breaths, maybe of relief of some sorts, maybe because she can now work at a pace in which she prefers to. Outside the ring, Lacey introduces the first ladder into the match, tall enough for both to be able to climb to the title. Lacey positions the ladder into one of the corners, smirking with evil intentions.

Kelly now backed in the corner opposite the ladder that Lacey placed just recently. Lacey walking right over, her next move preplanned, an Irish Whip across the ring, the champ crashing into cold, unforgiving steel that is the ladder, luckily with her back and not her face, but still Kelly has to absorb some pain from the impact with the ladder. Lacey now grabbing the neck of a Kelly Gervais on her knees, and giving her a DDT. Kelly’s face flat on the mat in but not in real danger of losing the title. Kelly gets a couple breaths in before Lacey drops her leg right across the neck, cutting off some air flow temporarily. Lacey now mounts her opponent and lays in a few right hands. The crowd booing once Lacey tosses her hair and once again does her pose while Kelly is crawling for the ropes to assist her in getting back up on her feet. Lacey kicks Kelly through the middle rope before she can even get to her feet, knocking her directly to the outside. Some fans within Sun Life Stadium cheer, while others randomly chant Daniel Bryan’s name. Lacey sends herself off the ropes, and on the other side catapults herself through them, crashing into the body of Kelly Gervais, sending most fans off their seats in applause. Lacey now seems to have complete control over the match, now looking to inflict more damage, this time with the stairs. Only thing is that Kelly reverses the Irish Whip, and sends Lacey right over the stairs, leaving Kelly to do a stunt of her own with the steps, her body crashing into the challenger, who for so long had control of the match.

Kelly rolling back in, grabbing the ladder Lacey introduced earlier in the match and setting it up in the middle, looking to retain her divas title at Wrestlemania. Lacey drags herself inside the ring, looking to tip the ladder over, possibly able to send Kelly into an audience of 70,000+ inside Sun Life Stadium. Before Lacey could do this, Kelly hops right off and starts sending rights to the challenger for her title, knocking her down with one clothesline, followed by another, then a dropkick, dazing Lacey for a bit, but allows Kelly to hit a flying elbow. The mob of 70,000+ Fans packed inside Sun Life Stadium start to rally behind Kelly Gervais. Both divas get up at the same time, so they trade blows with each other, receiving contrasting responses from the fans. One punch full of air by Kelly, and Lacey makes her pay, boing behind her and from out of nowhere the back stabber. Lacey now has a clear shot at winning the title, re-positioning the ladder in the center, and beginning to climb. Kelly, with the will of a tiger crawls over to the same ladder and begins climbing.  Obviously Lacey gets to the title first, trying to unhook it, but in that moment, Kelly is right there, bringing the two divas to trading blows high above the ring, and it’s possible that one will fall off, ultimately deciding the victor and whoever goes out of Sun Life Stadium as Divas Champion. 20 Seconds of brawling on top of a ladder and Lacey becomes dazed. One kick to the head and Lacey goes down, drawing a major pop for Kelly Gervais. Oddly, Kelly does not go for the Divas title, which is all hers for the taking. Kelly climbs to the very top of the ladder and stands atop it, staring down at the canvas, which includes a grounded Lacey Laree Leeland. One breath and air and she takes off, an all or nothing swanton bomb from the top of a ladder.... she lands it successfully. The crowd lets out a pop as loud as a football [soccer] stadium gets after a goal.

It is a short while before Kelly can get back up, but only this time Lacey is unable to get up. Kelly steadily climbs the ladder in dead center until she is able to reach the belt. Kelly grabs and unhooks her title. The 15 pounds of gold back in her clutches as her theme starts playing throughout Sun Life Stadium.

Justin Roberts: “Here is your winner.. and STILL Divas Champion.... Kelly Gervais!!!!”

Kelly finally gets the Wrestlemania Moment that she had been waiting for, but at the expense of her body, as well as that of Lacey Laree Leeland. Kelly hopefully thinks that Lacey won’t come for another shot at the title again, as she failed to do so twice now. Kelly climbs down the ladder, and leads a small celebration, hugging the fans and slapping hands in a victory lap around the ring. Going up the ramp backwards with the title in the air and a grin on her face, Its a while until Lacey gets up on her own feet. The music in the arena stops... it’s pretty much hard for her to know how did she lose when she was so close. People were thinking that Lacey was going to go in a fit of rage, but instead, she exits the ring and sits on the apron with a look of disappointment, the look of having let people down. The match was over, but something tells that the aftermath of the match is not going to look pretty the next night.
